Alsace Pinot Gris

The Alsace Pinot Gris, or Alsace Pinot Gris, is a French white wine produced in the Alsace vineyard from the pinot gris G grape variety. Part of the Pinot Gris is produced on the Alsace plain, but many other plots are located on the hillsides of the sub-Vosges hills, including those of the Alsace Grand Cru appellation. Generally, the top of the sub-Vosges hillsides is made up of ancient, plutonic, and metamorphic rocks such as granite, gneiss, or slate. The vine plots there are very steep. The bottom of the hills is composed of layers of limestone or marl covered with loess, where the relief is less pronounced.
