WINE | RED WINE | RHÔNE | COTE-ROTIE
Bottle of : 1.50L

Six generations of Ampuis tradition in a single bottle

  • A mineral and powerful expression of Côte-Rôtie, combining the elegance of mature Syrah with the structure of the northern Rhône. The wine reflects both the terroir and the refined winemaking philosophy of this historic Ampuis domaine.
  • Planted between 1989 and 1991, these vines have reached optimal maturity, yielding concentrated fruit and layered complexity. The age of the vineyard contributes to the wine's depth and equilibrium.
  • La Landonne occupies 0.4 hectares on the south-facing slopes of Ampuis, one of Côte-Rôtie's most prestigious lieu-dits. This exposure ensures full ripeness and the characteristic mineral character of the appellation.

Product features : Domaine Jean-Michel Gerin Cote-Rotie la Landonne 2019 — Côte-Rôtie

In the mouth
Complex and racey, with fine-grained tannins and excellent balance. The palate shows layered fruit, mineral tension, and a persistent finish that speaks to the quality of the terroir and vintage.
On the nose
Ripe black and red fruits mingle with white pepper and subtle spice. Secondary notes of leather and graphite emerge with aeration, reflecting the wine's mineral foundation and careful élevage.
On the eye
Deep garnet with subtle purple undertones, suggesting maturity and concentration.
Breeding
22 months: 40% new oak, 60% one or two-year-old barrels
M. Francois
A wine of considerable refinement, ideally suited to game birds such as quail and partridge. The mineral structure and moderate alcohol make it equally compelling as a meditation wine. Decant 30 minutes before service to fully express its complexity.
