A wine of genuine vivacity and mineral precision

  • This white wine proves itself a natural companion to dishes with exotic spice and bold flavours. The wine's crisp acidity and aromatic profile cut through richly seasoned cuisine with ease and grace.
  • Château Puygueraud represents a jewel within the Francs-Côtes de Bordeaux appellation, where limestone-rich soils and Atlantic influence create wines of distinctive character and restraint.
  • The estate employs methods that honour the integrity of each grape throughout the harvest and winemaking process. This careful stewardship ensures the wine expresses its terroir without unnecessary intervention or manipulation.

In the mouth
Straight and elegant on the palate, with a lively acidity that carries the wine forward. The flavours are clean and precise, finishing with a pleasant mineral grip that lingers without heaviness.
On the nose
Aromatic and inviting, with notes of white flowers, citrus blossom, and subtle tropical fruit. The bouquet unfolds with mineral undertones characteristic of the appellation's chalk and limestone soils.
On the eye
Brilliant, pale gold with green reflections
M. Francois
A wine designed for conviviality and shared pleasure. Serve it chilled as an apéritif, or pair it with lighter courses and seafood preparations. The 2016 vintage offers immediate approachability whilst retaining the structure to develop gracefully over the next few years.

Nicolas françois, propriétaire passionné des halles de quercamps

CHATEAU PUYGUERAUD

Perched on the plateau of Francs in the Gironde at 117 metres altitude, Château Puygueraud covers 47 hectares of argilo-calcaire soils within the Francs-Côtes de Bordeaux appellation. George Thienpont acquired the estate in 1946; his son Nicolas took the helm in 1983, followed by grandson Cyrille from 2009 — three generations of consistent, unhurried viticulture. The reds, built on Merlot and Cabernet Franc, show real precision and typicity, while whites from Sauvignon Blanc and Sauvignon Gris add a welcome dimension to the range. At Halles Quercamps, we selected this château for the coherence of its winemaking vision, the authenticity of its terroir, and its reliability across successive vintages — a sound reference for exploring the Côtes de Bordeaux beyond the better-known appellations.
