Bordeaux elegance where finesse meets intensity

  • A Grand Cru Classé white of genuine substance. The palate shows considerable richness and amplitude, built around white fruit and citrus notes with a mineral undercurrent that speaks to the terroir.
  • The wine's strength lies in its equilibrium—fresh yet complex, offering layers of aromatic detail without sacrificing the clarity that defines fine Bordeaux blanc. A wine of real breeding.
  • Structured for the table rather than casual drinking. Pair with seafood, poultry in cream sauces, or fine charcuterie. Equally rewarding on its own as a meditation wine.

In the mouth
Ample and well-structured, with genuine elegance and a sustained finish. The acidity is poised, the texture generous. This is a wine that develops in the glass.
On the nose
Citrus—lemon and grapefruit—mingles with stone fruit: peach and nectarine. A discreet smoky note adds complexity and suggests careful oak handling.
On the eye
Golden yellow robe with pale green glints.
Breeding
Ageing in new French oak barrels for part of the wine imparts elegant structure and subtle wood aromas, whilst preserving the freshness of the varieties
M. Francois
I've always admired Monbousquet's commitment to white wine in a region where red dominates. This is a serious bottle—the sort you'd serve to guests who understand Bordeaux. Drink now, or cellar for another five years with confidence. A genuine expression of its appellation.

CHATEAU MONBOUSQUET

Situated at Saint-Sulpice-de-Faleyrens on the south-western plain of Saint-Émilion, Château Monbousquet extends across 32 hectares of gravel, sand and clay soils. Founded in 1540, the château entered a new era in 1993 when Gérard and Chantal Perse took ownership: yields were brought down to 28 hl/ha, élevage was tightened, and the ambition paid off with Grand Cru Classé status in 2006. The château also holds a rare distinction as a pioneer of white wine within the appellation, blending Sauvignon Blanc, Sauvignon Gris and Sémillon. At Halles Quercamps, we have selected this château for the rigour of its vineyard management, the consistency of its style — balancing power with finesse — and its uncommon red-and-white identity within Saint-Émilion. A Bordeaux reference we are proud to list.
